Your mail waits on the porch until you let it in.

Letterporch screens every new sender before they reach your Imbox. One click decides where they belong, until you change your mind. It works with the email address you already have: Gmail, your own domain, or any IMAP mailbox.

The Screener, Imbox, Feed and Paper Trail, across every mailbox you own.

Founding members pay $60/year for life. First 300 only. No card now.

See how it works
The Screener: a list of new senders, each with a count of messages from the last 30 days and buttons to send them to Imbox, Feed, Paper Trail or Not for me.

Your inbox lets everyone in.

Anyone with your address gets a seat at the table: newsletters you never asked for, receipts, cold pitches, the one message from a client that actually matters. Filters and tabs sort the noise after it has already arrived. And if you have more than one mailbox, you do it all twice.

  • Every stranger lands in the same list as your clients.
  • Receipts and newsletters bury what needs an answer.
  • Two mailboxes, two inboxes, two sets of rules.

How it works

Four steps, then it runs itself

  1. Connect the mailbox you already have.

Gmail and Seznam have built-in presets (you just add an app password); any other IMAP/SMTP server works with its server name and password. Your address doesn’t change.

  2. New senders wait on the porch.

The first time someone writes to you, they land in the Screener, not your Imbox. Obvious bulk mail is marked with a quiet suggestion.

  3. Decide once.

Imbox, Feed, Paper Trail, or Not for me. The decision sticks to the sender, across all your mailboxes, until you change your mind.

  4. Read, reply, and put things down.

Reply from Letterporch, or move a message to Reply Later or Set Aside. When it’s handled, mark it Done and it goes to the archive.

Features

Four places. Nothing else.

Screenshots show the app’s interface in Czech; English arrives before launch.

The Screener

Say yes or no to every new sender.

Senders are sorted by how much they sent in the last 30 days, so the loudest go first. One click sends them to Imbox, Feed, Paper Trail or Not for me.

Several addresses from the same person? Merge them and decide once. The decision applies across every mailbox you connect.

The Screener. New senders wait here. One click decides where they go, until you change your mind.

The Imbox · Reply Later & Set Aside

Only people you said yes to.

Two sections and nothing in between: New for you and Previously seen. No unread pile-up, no folders to manage, just a quiet count of what’s new.

Put it down without losing it. Under every message: Done (to the archive), Reply Later (answer it properly when you have time), Set Aside (keep it handy). Your Imbox stays short.

The Imbox: a list of people you let in under 'New for you', with one message open and Done, Reply Later and Set Aside buttons under the message body.
Put it down without losing it. Done, Reply Later or Set Aside, right under every message.

The Feed

Newsletters, read like a magazine.

Full issues one after another. No unread counts, no pressure. Done with one? Mark it Done and it disappears to the archive.

The Feed: a newsletter issue shown in full, already open, with no unread state.
The Feed. Newsletters read like a magazine. No unread counts.

The Paper Trail

Receipts out of the way, never lost.

Order confirmations, invoices and notifications in one dense, dated table, one click from the sender.

The Paper Trail: a compact table of receipts and confirmations with date, sender and subject.

Write and reply

Answer from the same place.

Drafts save as you type; reply and reply-all quote the original and leave your own address out. Mail goes out through your own provider’s SMTP server.

Native apps Coming soon

iPhone, iPad and Mac.

A native app for iOS, iPadOS and macOS is built on the same account and follows the web app screen for screen. It isn’t in the App Store yet; it’s coming soon, after the web launch.

Letterporch never changes your mailbox. What you’ve seen, archived or put aside lives in Letterporch; your mail stays on your server exactly as it was.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Which email providers work?

Gmail and Seznam.cz have built-in presets. Mail on your own domain at your web host, and any other mailbox with standard IMAP and SMTP, works too: enter the server names and your password. Microsoft 365 and Outlook.com don’t work yet, because Microsoft requires OAuth sign-in; we’re working on it.

Do I have to change my email address?

No. Letterporch connects to the mailbox you already have. People keep writing to the same address.

How do I connect Gmail?

With a Google app password (Google requires 2-step verification for that). Letterporch walks you through it. Google Workspace accounts may have app passwords turned off by the admin; if so, wait for Sign in with Google, which is planned.

Does Letterporch change anything in my mailbox?

No. It reads your inbox and sends through your own SMTP server. What you mark as seen, done or set aside is stored in Letterporch, not on your mail server, so other mail apps see your mailbox as before.

One thing to know: Gmail files mail you send into its Sent folder automatically; other providers may not, so there a reply sent from Letterporch appears only in Letterporch’s Sent list, not in your provider’s Sent folder.

Your provider’s own apps still show everything that arrives. Letterporch is where you read, so screening happens there.

Where does my data live?

On our servers in the EU: Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt (eu-central-1). The database runs on encrypted storage, is not reachable from the internet, and is backed up daily for 7 days. The site and app are served over HTTPS only.

How are my mailbox passwords stored?

Encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they’re saved. The encryption key is kept outside the database and outside our code. You can use an app-specific password (Gmail, Seznam), so your main password never touches Letterporch.

Is my mail encrypted?

Your connection to Letterporch is HTTPS only, and the app talks to your mail server and our database over TLS. The database sits on encrypted storage. Coming before paid launch: stronger per-customer encryption and a data processing agreement (DPA) for GDPR.

Can other people see my mail or my decisions?

Other Letterporch users can’t. Each account sees only its own mailboxes, senders and decisions. We can technically access stored mail and only do so to fix a problem you report; stronger per-customer encryption is coming before paid launch.

Is there AI reading my email?

No. Screening suggestions come from simple email headers (like bulk-mail markers), not from a language model reading your messages.

What if I change my mind about a sender?

Move them anywhere, any time. Even senders you said “Not for me” to are one click away, with a count of what they’ve sent since.

Is there a phone app?

The web app works on your phone today. Native apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac are built and coming soon, after the web launch.

When can I use it?

We’re opening a closed beta in waves before the public launch, planned for early 2027. Waitlist members get in first; the beta is paid, at the founding price of $60/year for life.

Why no free plan?

Free email apps have a habit of shutting down. Paying customers keep Letterporch independent and around.
